Plank is simple dock as the developer describe it as "the simplest dock on earth". The project’s goal is to provide just what a dock needs, although it’s essentially a library which can be extended to create other dock programs with more advanced features. If you ever notice it's preinstall on elementary OS which is similar to OS X's dock.

How to Install

From your terminal, execute this command:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:docky-core/stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install plank

Once installed successfully, you can open the application by typing the name Plank on Dash.
